Tell us about YOU!
My name is Nicole Nowosad, and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada - pretty much dead center of Canada. I work full time by day and am a mommy to three kidlets by night. I am a busy person by nature and try to get involved in the community through my children’s school and sports activities. I have been scrapbooking for over 15 years now and have been fortunate to be on some great DTs. I am currently on the design team for Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine, Jillibean Soup, Fancy Pants (social media team), Silhouette and Hip Kit Club.

Tell us about your scrappy habits.
I do most, if not all of my scrapbooking 2 days a week - Friday and Sunday. My husband works nights, so I get a lot of time alone to sketch out or work on projects in my free time when the kids are in bed! I would say my style of scrapping is colorful. I tend to lean more to the over colorful side, but with clean details… if that makes sense? I also design cut files and have some exciting things in the works in that department soon.

What is your sketch making process like?
I usually get a basic idea and sketch it down. Maybe it is circles or layers of paper or who knows, then I sketch it out and go from there. I do all my sketching on the computer in photoshop so I can play around with layers, etc. and move things to see what works best. I guess I get some inspiration from ads or graphic design on the Internet, but that is rare and only if I am really in a jam.

What are 5 products/trends or techniques that are your favorite right now?
  1. Watercolors - I love the look, but I am not so artsy!
  2. Layers. Always in style if you ask me
  3. Pops of Black - Black is back and popping up all over. Every page should have a small hint of black in it 😊
  4. Gesso - I love the look of it but dang, I am not artsy!
  5. Large titles. I love that bold funky look. Will be doing that a lot!
